We are currently recruting for the following positions:

Experienced Insurance Claims Handler

This is a full time role within the firm (to be made permanent after a successful 3 month probationary period).

We are looking for a candidate with experience in the general insurance industry. At least Cert CII qualification is desirable, but not essential. You will be required to study and obtain this insurance qualification should you not hold.

In-house training will be provided for the daily tasks required to ensure the applicant can meet his/her duties and responsibilities and is able to carry them out in a confident and competent manner, whilst operating within the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) guidelines together with the firm’s compliance and money laundering procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answering telephone and either dealing with request/query or redirecting calls as appropriate

  • Use the filing system to review files and deal with incoming mail providing advice on making a claim and the processes involved

  • processing new insurance claims notifications

  • collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
    guiding policyholders on how to proceed with the claim

  • monitoring the progress of a claim

  • identifying reasons why full payment may not be made

  • ensuring fair settlement of a valid claim

  • building relationships with loss adjusters

  • ensuring the customer is treated fairly and that the customer receives

    excellent service in accordance with industry and company guidelines

  • handling any complaints associated with a claim

  • Operate within the FCA guidelines

  • Operate within the firm’s compliance and money laundering procedures

  • Be able to prioritise effectively within time constraints

Skills Required:

  • At least 2 years experience working in the general insurance industry

  • Must be computer literate

  • A minimum of English Language and Maths GCSE grade C or above

  • Good telephone manner

  • Be able to work within a team environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Understanding of percentage calculations

  • Be prepared to study for CERT CII qualification
